Ghanaian music superstar Gyakie draws us into a new music experience with her new single titled "Scar" featuring fast-rising and promising UK-Born Ghanaian rapper; JBEE. This is two worlds merging to unveil magic to the ears! Finally, this is something new and refreshing if we should trace it back to Gyakie's previous releases.
Drill music has taken ample space in the Ghanaian music industry when Hip-Hop becomes the topic. We've heard many drill songs in the past years, not only in Ghana but across the globe. UK Drill hasn't been observed and a lot of people simply can't tell the difference.
The song "Scar" talks about relationship insecurities, the desire to overcome past fears and probably giving up on love. Gyakie's verse expresses how she's been hurt by love and how she wants to get back to it but her scar reminds her of the unpleasant feelings it comes with.
JBEE on the other hand is trying to convince her to give love a chance and open up to positive possibilities. This is more like one story with different sides/approaches to it. Beautiful piece and well-written!
North London’s JBEE is one of the go-to fresh faces in British Rap paving a lane of his own. In 2021 he released ‘4AM’ gaining over 77 million streams, and going onto currently reaches 3.7 million monthly Spotify listeners. It’s no surprise he picked up a MOBO nomination for Best Newcomer at the end of last year.Isn't it refreshing to hear Gyakie on a melodic UK Drill beat?! We think she should do more of these! We love it and we know you'll love it too! The song is available on all streaming platforms.
