Ghanaian dancehall superstar, Shatta Wale has released a new Album titled “Maali”. From what we have discovered, “Maali” means greatness, high ranking or superiority. It may mean something different but we are positive this is what it means.
This album puts Shatta Wale in a unique category. Dancehall music has lost its original touch in the Ghanaian music scene, but Shatta Wale knows how to draw a fine line between Afro-Dancehall (As Ghanaians say it) and the original undiluted dancehall.
If you are wondering about the difference, you’d have to listen to the “Maali” album. Mostly street life, parties and messages to the Ghetto youth. The only “Slow” song is “Did My Time” which deserved that vibe because it brought out the emotions in those lyrics.
The album made it to the Apple Music charts and had some great music veterans applauding the beautiful body of work.
But there is one question left unanswered. Is this a replacement for the “Gift Of God” album? Is he planning on releasing that album later in the year or the following year? His Fans have waited for this album and they’ll get disappointed when it doesn't show up.
Enjoy the new album below and keep your fingers crossed for the much-awaited and most anticipated GOG album. The album is also available on your favourite streaming platform and music stores.
